Was away this weekend with Jürgen a mountain guide from our alpine club, to wrap up my mountaineering skills, was really great, learned a lot and we made the ridge crossing to the Pitztaler Urkund. Only this global warming thing had change the concept of summer and winter giving us 40 Cm new snow, made the bike rally to the valley quite interesting. getting fit for Dom (4545 m) 2010 in septemper, no chance of second time with altitude sickness
Failure on the attempt of Zumsteinspitze (4563m) Last time I tried to climb the Zumsteinspitze we had to give up because of bad weather, so this weekend we tried our second attempt. After a night with almost no sleep and 2 hours of altitude sickness I manage the Vincent Pyramide (4215m), two from the group also went to the Parrotspitze afterwards. For the second day we had planned the Zumsteinspitze but hat to give up because of bad weather. But we had a really great time anyway.
Went for a day freeriding in Hintertux, the homepage said great snow and sunny weather. I have forgot how the marketing machine works in Austria, Hintertux was as always Icy and cloudy but I still manage to get my Scottish skiing skills back in shape ( ice ice and more iced slopes)
Over Easter I was away to climb the Gran Paradiso (4061m) and Zumsteinspitze (4563), but the weather god was not happy with us, so we only manage the Gran Paradiso and we hat to go down in the valley on Saturday, a alternative tour was also not possible because of bad weather all over in the alps. I will try again end of this month, let see. I can only recommend the Gran Paradiso National Park a Fantastic area with Italian flair.
Was away for 4 day in the dolomites, somehow the summer has come early to Süd –Tirol this ysear, all south side there was no snow and in the north side avalanches came down every 10 minutes. But we still manager to make the Famous Sella Ronda and a great ski mountaineering tour to the classic Marmolada
Last week I went with 4 friends on the long planned ski mountaineering alp crossing from Oberstdorf in Germany through Austria and Switzerland to Italy. The first 2 day we had really bad weather so the navigation was quite scary, but we got rewarded with excellent weather and snow conditions the last 2 days.
The last 8 day I have manage to have one day on alpine ski, 6 ski tours (total now 17) and two times climbing and still feeling fit, only my elbow is still troubling me. Somehow I manage to make up from the “Lost” January because of injury.
Was away in Silvretta in Switzerland for 5 day for a refreshment course in alpine ski mountaineering. Was good nice but very cold. Got my skill refreshed and we had 5 trip one of them to the famous Piz Tasna (3179 M) a real alpine experience, I have now done 16 tours this season ;-)
Was with Reinhardt “The machine” on Galtjoch, was total dejaveu, because it was where I went on my first even ski mountaineering tour ever. Even we had bad weather in Munich we where rewarded with Sunshine on the summit and powder conditions. A pefect way to spend the Sunday.
Up at 04:00 this morning; meet with Martin at 04:30, Reach the summit at 08:00 on a grey powder day and off to work, the best way to start the day.
Because of bad weather conditions and great avalanche danger I went to the classic ski mountaineering tour to Brauneck. Still manage to get lost 2 times because of bad sight and so much snow. But still manage to get up in a record time and had a perfect powder decent.
Took a das of for freeriding in Hochfügen, had great weather and great snow.
Was on a 3 day Ice climbing course in Sellraintal in Austria, was pretty cool and total different experience than rock climbing. But can be quite scary, you need to have 100 % self-confidence and trust in your equipment and a quick reaction when ice, snow and rock are falling down from above.
My arm is slowly getting better, was on the 8th ski mountaineering tours this month; I hope my luck now has change to the better.

Back from 3 days off to clear my head and test if my elbow was fit for climbing and skiing. I was on 2 ski mouteneering trip and one day Alpin ski to fresh up my skills on the slope. Was 3 great days, had one of the best powder days in my life with a 3000 meter pure powder decent.
Looks like a awful start this year?? Some how my elbow had not survived a major crash on a iced slope 14 days ago, result a trip to the Hospital new years day and a arm in plaster, damm damm third injury in 5 tours I must be getting older.

Because my mother had to get an operation our plan to spend the Xmas in Denmark was cancelled, a last minute booking for a hotel in Ötztal with the hope of some skiing and ski mountaineering was made. The 24th we had panned to ski but when we came to Obergurgel the cable cars where closed, so we change our plan put on the ski skins and we out the piste to the new rebuild Hüt in the KirchenKar. The 25th we had arrange for a mountain guide, but because of bad weather conditions it was cancelled. But anyway 5 tours before New Year the season could turn out good
Up 4:30 and with Markus to the “Jäger kamp”, we wanted to start our usual before work ski mountaineering tours. Because of a big west wind and increasing avalanche danger we had hope the west site would be safer. But somehow the wind has blow in all directions so going up in the dark and make a safe track was quite difficult. Somehow going with Markus always cause pain, Markus broke his camera, I crashed on an even slope and manage to put the ski pole between my helmet and ski Google, causing a blue eye- ;-)
This weekend I was in Stubai tal. Saturday I was on my third Ski mountaineering tour this year to the “Burgstall” afterwards we went to test the climbing hall in Innsbruck. Sunday we had hope for powder but the wind has blown the most away. A very cold weekend with up do minus 25 degree, but very rewarding
Winter has come to Munich, and I was on the second ski mountaineering tour this season in the Bavarian Alps. Was quite good, we have a perfect decent in powder, and only a few stone contacts. If we get a bit more snow now the conditions are perfect for a tour near Munich
This weekend I was on the first ski mountaineering tour. Even at this early state I had a perfect our with powder snow to the Hinterer Daunkopf in the Stubaier Alps. You can find the tour data in the "My tours" section

Hi, after some major work our homepage is now moved to our new ISP. They are much faster and have a brilliant support compared to the two others I have tried. Also the site have got a major lift up to support IE 8.0, also a lot of small bug fixes was implemented
Hi I’m back from Vacation in Corse, I can only recommend the island, I had a great time Hiking, Climbing and canyoing. Somehow Corse has everything form mountains to beaches and a great atmosphere. You can see pictures from my vacaiton in the photo gallery. The tours will also be up soon.
I was in Thalkirchen climbing hall yesterday, it looks like it is going to e a really good season, even I was not climbing over winter because of the great snow conditions for ski mountaineering, I was climbing a lot of 6 plus one 7 route , the summer can come :-)
Sunday I was climbing in the climbing hall in Gilching instead of Thalkichen. I can only recommend it since it was no so crowded, and may of the route has a real mountain feeling, so I ended up climbing for 5 hours. You can find the link to the climbing hall und climbing halls
Today is the normal climbing day for the ASM climbing group, so I am off to Thalkirchen for climbing today
